Wine Description

(From 2004 Vintage)

The Oracle is a Bordeaux-style blend inspired by the ancient Greek Oracle, the center of prophecy and wisdom. The fruit for this wine is sourced from Napa Valley’s renowned Stagecoach Vineyard, and the blend changes each year based on what we believe makes the best wine from what nature has given us.

This harmonious blend reveals aromas of blackberries, coffee and dried herbs that lead into layers of plush dark fruit flavors on the palate. With well-integrated oak and framed by finely grained tannins.

Drink now through 2013. 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec. 4,660 cases produced.

Winemaker's Notes

Our flagship wine, inspired by the ancient Greek Oracle, reveals flavors of spicy plum, ripe blackberry with hints of cedar backed by requisite acidity and supple, generous tannins. Made using fruit sourced from the renowned Stagecoach Vineyard, this Bordeaux style blend will drink well through 2014. The cooler 2005 vintage stands out for its ideal ripening conditions that allowed for incredible complexity, color and nuance.

(From 2004 Vintage) 52% Cabernet Sauvignon; 26% Merlot; 21% Cabernet Franc; 1% Malbec. Clean and a bit mild given its ripeness and complex blend of varieties, this wine is full on the palate and sports a bit of curranty fruit along with hints of toasted herbs and chocolate. Its finishing tannins are firm but not aggressive or abrasive, and the wine is likely to drink well for the next several years alongside beef or lamb roasts.
