Winemaker's Notes

(From 2010 Vintage) Brilliant ruby tone with medium body, the nose is wildly enthusiastic with dancing notes of currants, black cherry, plum, and vanilla. The palate is brimming with spiced blackberry and cherry flavors, trailing off into a long, easy finish which also reveals a spicy pepper note.

  • Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines
(From 2004 Vintage) Extreme in its ripeness and never keen on well-defined fruit, this palate-coating effort offers up glimmers of dried grapes that are overlain with suggestions of smoke and tar. Very full in the mouth and rather viscous in feel, it will defy easy mealtime matching with food but will be liked by fans of full-blown Zins.
