Winemaker François Cordesse's passion for Sauvignon Blanc is evident in the sophisticated, yet spirited, nature of this 2006 vintage wine. Comprised of primarily Sauvignon Blanc, this blend also includes 13% Sauvignon Musque, a clonal cousin to Sauvignon Blanc that balances the wine's acidity, strengthens the mid-palate and provides a longer finish.     Vague and hesitant fruit sits behind overt cardboardy elements all the way through this muddled look at Sauvignon Blanc and never emerges as a key player. Short, slightly bitter and lacking in real substance, this one should be ignored in favor of its much better younger sibling.

    Pale silver color. Racy lemon, lime and green apple on the nose. Clean and focused, with moderately concentrated citrus and honeydew flavors and a late kick of dusty minerals. Light in body and a touch simple but refreshing, with good mineral snap on the finish.
