Leeuwin Estate Riesling Art Series

Wine Details

Wine Description

(From 2012 Vintage) The "Ärt Series" represents Leeuwin's most opulent and ageworthy wines from each vintage. They are identified with paintings commissioned from leading contemporary Australian artists Bright straw green in colour. The 2015 Riesling exhibits concentrated aromas of citrus blossom, sweet spice, musk and subtle perfume of golden delicious apples. The palate reveals incredible freshness with soft lingering flavours of freshly cut Australian finger limes, crisp granny smith and jasmine spice which are balanced and fine, the delicate natural acidity drives the pallet into a persistent mineral finish.

Winemaker's Notes

(From 2014 Vintage) Freshly cut limes, lemon sorbet and hints of Granny Smith apples combine with pronounced floral notes, hints of sweet spice and fragrant kaffir lime leaf. The palate is taut and fine with bursting Tahitian lime and lemon pith. Lively and racy acid underpins the palate throughout.

  • Decanter
(From 2005 Vintage) Rating: 5/5 - As reviewed by Decanter. World famous for its Chardonnay, this superb Margaret River estate has captured the vogue for Riesling to perfection: lemony pale, a nose of fresh limes over a mineral base of nicely concentrated fruit, lively length and succulent acidity, could be kept but really good right now. Drink from 2006/7.
