(From 2014 Vintage) Low rainfall in the winter and spring followed by a warm, temperate summer caused fruit across California to mature faster and be picked earlier. The shorter than normal growing season caused the fruit to develop faster resulting in intense fruit flavors and soft acidity. The 2006 vintage was a cool, long growing season, which allowed the Zinfandel clusters to ripen evenly, permitting ideal harvesting conditions.
