(From 2008 Vintage) Deep ruby in the glass, this Cabernet Sauvignon commands attention from the moment it is poured. Rich, luscious scents of sweet berry fruits entice the nose, opening to wisps of cola, licorice and spice. An intense core of ripe blackberry and boysenberry greets the palate, giving way to notes of cassis, vanilla and earth. Firm tannins and food-friendly acidity balance the plush fruit, leading to a long, pleasant finish. The intense character and complex nature of this Cabernet Sauvignon is a strong partner for meat dishes such as beef stew and roasted venison. Try it also with a flavorful starter, such as gorgonzola and walnuts, or a simple dessert, like espresso gelato.
(From 1998 Vintage) Aromas of tropical fruit, melons and apples from the Chardonnay fruit, as well as vanilla from the new French oak and a hint of butter from the fermentation are forward in the nose. The flavors closely follow the nose, with a crisp acid balance and a clean finish that invites taste after taste. This wine will pair well with poultry, seafood, pork and veal. I tasted this wine with an Oriental dish at home and it was quite tasty. With crisp acidity, this wine will stand well on its own as a refresh...
