(From 2012 Vintage) The Rubrato has a brilliant ruby red color. Letting it rest in the glass for a few minutes in order to allow a good oxygenation gives the nose one spretto olfactory interesting jammy red fruits on a background of vanilla mentosa. The taste is rich and fragrant with good acidity and tannins that make it soft and fluffy.
This wine is made from 100% Aglianico grapes sourced from the Taurasi area which has deep deposits of volcanic ash soil rich in humus and clayey, sandy and alluvial deposits. It is Intense ruby red in colour with wild black fruit, liquorice and wild berry aromas. The palate is medium bodied and fruit driven with a fine balancing structure consisting of well integrated, rounded tannin and spicy, smoky oak nuances. Finishes firm but soft. A great partner to most roasted meats (particulalry goose, turkey or ham) and perfect with pasta, grilled or barbecued red meat and cheese.
