(From 2012 Vintage) Our Cabernet Sauvignon comes from mountain-grown fruit in Alexander Valley. Cedar, graphite, fresh blackberry and spice aromas delight with a soft mouth feel that boasts flavors of mocha, black tea, wild berry and clove. Velvety tannins and sweet notes of caramel and chocolate abound in the finish.
Connoisseurs' Guide to California WinesIts ripe and youthful fruit aromas notwithstanding, this wine has more of a dry streak at its heart than it can overcome, and while it is likely to be entirely serviceable, it is also runs from glyceriny smooth and somewhat fleshy at entry to astringent and narrow by the time it finishes. It comes very close to commendation, but this isn't horseshoes.
