Wine Description

(From 2011 Vintage) Bold and powerful, yet elegant and concentrated. Dense and inky, the core is a beautiful, rich ruby color. The aromas lift out of the glass with blackberry, black cherry, ripe raspberry and tea leaf. The entry is impressive with a fleshy mouthfeel and notes of cassis, dark chocolate and ripe berries. The layers continue to unfold throughout a long finish.

Winemaker's Notes

California Grapevine: Medium to medium-dark ruby; tight, herbal, cedary, dark berry fruit aroma; full body; big, rich, textured, cedary, blackberry fruit flavors; nicely balanced; full tannin; rough finish; lingering aftertaste. Highly recommended. (Dec 2009-Jan 2010) 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 3% Malbec, and 1% Cabernet Franc.

(From 2005 Vintage) 18% Merlot; 3% Cabernet Franc. Putting its ripe currant fruit to good use as the focus of its rich, outgoing aromas, this wine is full and supple on entry and firm across the palate with tannins for backbone and deep, slightly chocolate-tinged fruit showing the way in the finish. There are those who will try this one in its youth, but there is plenty of justification for letting it rest in the cellar for a few years yet.
