De Loach Pinot Noir Green Valley

Wine Description

(2012 Vintage) Our 2012 vintage of the Green Valley Pinot Noir opens with alluring aromas of cherry cola, currant and sandalwood. Richly complex flavors of cherry, ripe raspberry, licorice and tobacco coat the palate of this full bodied, well-structured wine that culminates in a long, satisfying finish. Our chef suggests pairing it alongside a blackcurrant-glazed seared duck breast.

Fruit, while not wholly absent, does takes some-thing of a backseat to ripeness in this rounded, slightly viscous and rather accessible Pinot, but what is an inviting start is contrasted by an unwelcome flare of heat in the wine's finish, and we are left wanting just a bit more.
