Cheval des Andes

Wine Description

(2010 Vintage) The 2010 vintage was characterized by weather conditions that delivered significantly marked seasons: summer was mild but with heavy rains during the months of January and February. Spring frosts resulted in lower yielding which helped increased grape quality. Autumn, on the other hand, was cool, dry and long. This led to a slow ripeness, resulting in distinct varietal, naturally acid and fruity wines. These weather conditions embodied this unique Cheval des Andes that our winemakers decided to personify as “the equilibrist”; featured by an aromatic complexity, this 2010 harvest finds its balance between the 2008 freshness and the 2009 ripeness. The distinctiveness of this Cheval des Andes rests in its youthfulness and cheerful outline. Malbec (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) and Petit Verdot (20%).

Beautiful wine. Velvety texture. Annis on the nose with a bit of cherry. Quick burst of fruit, slight leather on the palate followed by black pepper.
