The 2007 Catena Cabernet Sauvignon presents a deep, dark violet color with reddish hues. The nose offers intense, focused aromas of ripe cassis and black currant fruit intertwined with notes of tobacco, cedar, and a touch of eucalyptus. The mouthfeel is full and concentrated with layers of rich black berry flavors and elements of frosted mint, espresso and graphite.
International Wine Cellar(2005 Vintage) Red-ruby. Slightly medicinal aromas of redcurrant and licorice, but clearly riper than the pinot noir and bonarda under the Alamos label. Juicy and aromatic in the mouth, with moderately ripe flavors of spicy berries, mint and fresh herbs. Finishes with firm-edged tannins and lingering sweetness of fruit. Excellent value in cabernet.
