2006 Beringer Vineyards Pinot Noir Founders' Estate

Winemaker's Notes

(From 2012 Vintage) The Beringer Founders’ Estate Pinot Noir is bright ruby in color and displays ripe currant flavors rounded out by aromas of cedar and spice. This wine has immediate fruit-forward flavors that balance well with the toasty smokiness of the oak. It would pair perfectly with a red wine risotto or grilled salmon.

Clean, candied and confected, this wine is as much generic plonk as it is Riesling in character, but its lack of varietal precision and beauty does not hold it back from being a satisfactory quaffer with enough sugar to make White Zinfandel drinkers happy and enough fruit to be better than WZ.
