Wine Description

(From 2012 Vintage) Aromatic, with notes of red berries and blood orange with some soil notes and just a whiff of smoke and spice…medium-bodied with high intensity of flavors, delineated acidity, great length and poise and an overall Burgundian character. Elegant and powerful, a great combination.

Winemaker's Notes

(From 2008 Vintage) Cono Sur was born around the oldest Pinot Noir vineyards in Chile. They were the first in Chile to produce and export Premium Pinot Noir. Producing this variety has been Cono Sur’s most exiting challenge. Their “Pinot Noir project” started in 1999, with the aim of producing the best Pinot Noir in Chile: unique, expressive and proud of its New World roots, while vinified according to the Burgundian tradition. From this same French DO comes Martin Prieur, an experienced Pinot Noir winemaker who has helped ConoSur select Chilean terroirs and advised them on optimum vineyard management. The read more...Ocio Pinot Noir has a complex and delicate black fruit and white flower aromas, together with violet notes, combine harmonically with sweet spices and chocolate. In mouth it shows intense sweet fruit, elegance, rich texture and concentrated flavours. This amazing Pinot Noir has very soft tannins, a great structure and a rich and long lasting ending. It is a perfect companion for red meats, poultry, duck and mature cheeses. It’s also an excellent option to serve next to Easter Island tuna fish, or different kinds of rice, such us risottos or sushi. Cheese-wise, something white and ripe like Brie is a great choice.
