Towards the end of the 60's, Count Giuseppe decided to create a special reserve of Regaleali Rosso, capable of ageing like other great international red wines. A challenge he won in 1970 and renewed for successive vintages. A wine long meditated, fruit of a research run with rigour and passion for many years both among the vines and in the cellar. Rosso del Conte is produced with Nero d'Avola from plants over forty years old cultivated as shrubs almost unique today in Sicily.
Consistently a rich, structured red, the 2005 vintage is no less powerful than its predecessors. Marasca cherry flavor is complemented by notes of walnut husk, vanilla, mint, sage and tobacco. Refined tannins come through on the palate and the refreshing finish lingers in the mouth.
