(2006 Vintage) Robert Parker: Dark ruby/purple, with notes of chocolate, cassis, espresso roast, and some underbrush, the wine is attractive, rich, medium-bodied, and while tannic, not excessively so, as some 2006s have tended to be. This wine should drink well for 10-15 years. (Dec 2009)
Wine & Spirits(2006 Vintage) I had the pleasure of getting a private tour of this outstanding winery many years ago. The quality of the wines produced there is exceptional. Over 50% of the grapes used for this 2005 Cabernet come from the Stags Leap District. It is a fabulous Bordeaux-style blend, with body and structure. The color is deep crimson with aromas of dark fruit with a hint of oak. Flavors of cherry, cranberry and plum delight the palate, with a lengthy and satisfying finish. The wine is drinkable now or can be cellared. Serve with pepper steak or any hearty beef dish.
