(2010 Vintage) Dark crimson in color, this 2013 displays distinctive aromas of bergamot tea along with cassis, black cherry, and mocha. More of a ripe style, this Merlot has a seductive palate filled with notes of blackberry, forest floor and dried herbs coupled with dust and minerality. Medium bodied, this is a very elegant and delicious Merlot that is approachable now, but will improve over the next two years. - Mark R. Lyon, Winemaker
Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines9% Petit Verdot; 5% Cabernet Sauvignon; 4% Petite Sirah; 3% Malbec. Showing a strong theme of sweet cherries and lots of rich, caramelly oak from its aromas to its flavors and finish, this balanced and carefully polished Merlot continues the string of recent Sebastiani successes. It is light on tannin yet still shows some spine, and its accessible, wide-open style makes it easy to recommend for drinking soon.
