Wine Details

Wine Description

(2009 Vintage) Dark purple color. On the nose aromas of toast, mineral, spicy and black cherries. On the palate, lots of fruit, figs, dark Schockolade, spice palette, beautifully integrated tannins and ripe. A very complex wine with a long, full finish.

(2009 Vintage) The purple-colored 2009 Prima is made up of 90% Tinta de Toro and 10% Garnacha aged for 12 months in seasoned French oak prior to bottling without filtration. Earthy minerals, espresso, truffle, licorice, and blackberry aromas lead to a ripe, dense, sweetly-fruited, layered wine lacking only complexity. Give it 1-2 years to fill out and drink it through 2021.

(2012 Vintage) The polished texture masks depth and muscle in this powerful red, which shows blackberry, anise, tar and mineral flavors, with spicy and floral highlights. Firm tannins and fresh acidity lend good balance.

(2003 Vintage) "Plush, polished and alluring, this modern red offers ripe, sweet blackberry and cassis flavors supported by plenty of toasty oak and grounded by a firm minerality. Not muscle-bound, but structured and balanced, with a long floral finish. Drink now through 2015. 6,100 cases made."
