Through the years, Ravenswood has had the good fortune of working with amazing vineyards. But among the many are a few that stand high above the rest for the one-of-a-kind character they display.     Markedly tougher and more tannic than the rest of its clan, this brooding youngster still manages to convey a fine sense of fruit and richness. Its compelling themes of ripe berries and spice are interrupted by abrasive astringency by mid-palate, but we like its extract, its depth and its impressions of central substance and will gladly wait for the five to eight years that it demands before coming into its own.
