(From 1997 Vintage) Quiviras traditional Sauvignon Blanc style showcases perfectly ripe fruit with characteristic melon, citrus and fig flavors, subtly enhanced and integrated with French oak. Estate grapes, grown in gravelly soils along the banks of Dry Creek, are the source of Quivira Sauvignon Blanc. The wine is partially fermented, then aged three months in French oak barrels.     Elements of melons and fresh figs combine with a light wisp of sweet oak and subtle notes of grass in the complex and nicely composed aromas of this wholly engaging effort, and its fairly deep flavors follow right in step. If fleshy and full on the palate, it is still entirely refined in manner, and its overall balance and sense of restraint make it an ideal choice for service with a wide range of white-fleshed fish preparations.
