(2005 Vintage) "This estate Cabernet is made from selected Cabernets lots that offer a more accessible character but still retain the structure of Howell Mountain. The nose is very expressive, with notes of mocha, balsam, cocoa and pain grille. Twenty-two months of elevage softens its power, and the resulting wine shows flavors of dark stone fruits, coffee bean and mint. Long and supple tannins provide a very nice compliment. 247 cases were produced." -Winery
Tanzer(2005 Vintage) "Deep, saturated ruby. Highly aromatic nose combines red fruits, lilac and crushed rocks. Juicy and bright in the mouth, with a distinctly rocky minerality and bright acidity giving terrific lift and verve to the flavors of red fruits, flowers and spices. The tannins are serious but arrive late. A strongly mineral-driven, highly aromatic wine, the first commercial release under this label."
