(From 2009 Vintage) Our Carneros Merlot has aromas of blackberry, bramble, blueberry, light baking spices, freshly grated ginger, violets and Sarsaparilla. On the palate, the entry is soft and velvety with good balance and refined tannins that are wrapped around a nice acidic structure. Flavors of dark berry and violets finish with a hint of dark chocolate. In short, it is quintessential Carneros Merlot.
(From 2004 Vintage) "This wine is made from lots selected for their complexity of flavors and supple tannins. The blend includes Cabernet Sauvignon for complexity and fullness of tannins. The wine was lightly fined then carefully racked and bottled unfiltered. Round and harmonious in its youth, this wine will reward a few years of cellaring with nuances of aroma that only time in the bottle provides." -Winery
Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(From 2004 Vintage) 22% Cabernet Sauvignon. Restrained in reach in both its quietly oaked aromas and narrow, comparatively simple, loosely cherry-like flavors, this wine shows a quick touch of tactile roundness before running headlong into drying tannins that steer it well wide of varietal expectations.

Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(From 2003 Vintage) With its aromatic mix of ripe black-cherries and subtle tea-leaf herbaceousness, this well-defined Merlot puts a good first foot forward, but its initial suppleness is interrupted by curt tannins in the latter going, and its likeable fruit fades just a bit en route to a slightly austere finish.
