(2012 Vintage) Beautiful ruby red color. The nose opens with intense notes of fresh red fruit fresh, such as cherries and strawberries, lightly underscored with aromas of thyme, bay and mint. Superb volume on the palate, with soft yet well-defined tannins. A wine with a fine balance of fruit.
The color is like a dark cherry. The nose had a fat smokey scent with a liquor finish. The taste was an almost overpowering smokey or wood flavor. I'm guessing it's from the oak? The finish is a strong veggie taste. Snow peas or cabbage or something. Very odd wine. I respect it but it's weirding me out.
