Leonetti Cabernet Sauvignon

Wine Details

Wine Description

(2005 Vintage) This very dark wine has classic Walla Walley Valley Cabernet Sauvignon elements of cassis, pine tar and cedar, crushed red and black fruits, cranberries, and bright, high-tone floral notes. The palate is lush and fay yet elegant, balanced by wonderful acidity, and finishes with perfectly ripe tannin that carries the wine across the palate.

(2008 Vintage) "Dense, aromatic, layered and rich, this wine explodes from the glass with scents and flavors of concentrated berries, cassis, black cherry, and more. The vines have reached a mature stage that amplifies the fruit and keeps the generous barrel flavors in perfect balance. The barrel notes roll on in a chorus of toasty accents, and the finish is as good in the last minute as the first whiff from the glass."

(2007 Vintage) Rating: 90/100 - As reviewed by Wine & Spirits Magazine on 10/09. This is a savory merlot, drawn from Seven Hills, Loess, Pepper Bridge and Mill Creek Upland fruit. It leads with a meaty scent, like air-dried, spice-rubbed beef; the flavors are dense and savory. With air, the dried plum and cherry fills out the formidable structure, a clear indication of a wine that will age.
