(From 2011 Vintage) The 2012 vintage was a grape grower’s dream season. Perfectly timed spring rains followed by moderate summertime temperatures created perfect growing conditions. There were no debilitating variations in weather during harvest. Because of consistent temperatures, the fruit ripened evenly producing great ripe fruit flavors and freshness. These were the ultimate conditions for growing extraordinary Cabernet Sauvignon.

    Kamen's brilliant 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the more complete Cabernets I have tasted from that vintage. Beautiful blue and black fruit along with subtle background oak and floral aromas soar from the glass of this full-bodied effort. The wine possesses silky tannin (a good sign in this vintage), a layered mouthfeel, a long finish, and a pure, stylish, Margaux-like delicacy and complexity. It should drink well for 15-20 years. From a well-run, small operation in Sonoma, these impeccably well-made reds are fashioned by the well-known wine consultant, Mark Herold.

    "The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon has put on significant weight since last year. This seems to be a common occurrence in 2005, which do have a more European structural underpinning, but have definitely increased their intensity of fruit as they have aged in cask - always a positive sign.
