Wine Description

(2010 Vintage) This is, as always, a gorgeous wine, rich, balanced and delicious. It shows classic Napa Valley ripeness, with blackberry jam, plum, dark chocolate and sweet oak flavors. Plush and velvety doesn’t begin to do it justice.

Winemaker Notes The dark ruby-colored 2005 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon resembles a classic Bordeaux both in aromatics and flavor. A rich bouquet of cinnamon, spice, licorice, graphite and caramel are followed by integrated layers of cherry, currant, fresh cream and balanced, sweet tannin, all of which contribute to a youthful, bright, multi-layered wine.

Definitely benefitted from a few hours in decanter. Overall the wine was surprisingly well balanced. The in your face boldness of a young cab had dissipated into a nice velvety texture. Blackberry and black plum, wet stone, white pepper. Long, pleasant finish.

(2005 Vintage) "The restrained, European-styled 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits classic notes of cedar, black currants, menthol, and spice as well as excellent fruit, sweet tannin, delineation, and vibrant acidity. It should drink well for a decade."

(2002 Vintage) From first sniff to finish, this head-turning young wine is nothing less than a classic expression of all that is best in Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Its juicy, concentrated aromas are rich in cassis and plentiful sweet oak while finding highlights of mineral and black soil terroir, and its very deep, keenly fruited flavors follow suit. Despite a bit of tannic hardness that is entirely in keeping with its varietal and age, the wine is wonderfully well-balanced and offers plenty of promise for...
