(From 2011 Vintage) The 2013 Pinot Noir Land's Edge Vineyards is soft, open and expressive, all of which suggest it is best enjoyed over the next few years. Dark red cherry, plum, spice and a hint of new oak meld together on the supple finish. The Land's Edge is a blend of fruit from Far Coast and Seascape, and is a great introduction to the house style.
(From 2009 Vintage) Complex aromas of cocoa powder, black cherries and black raspberries are balanced with crushed quartz and dried rose petal nuances. The layered flavors of perfectly ripe, dark berries and dried flowers transition to a silky elegant and lingering finish of coffee and minerals.
Connoisseurs' Guide to California WinesA substantial Pinot from first sniff to aftertaste, this full-bodied bottling displays a bit of youthful narrowness to its ripe black cherry fruit, but it also carries a touch of enriching chocolate that helps fill things out. Plush and near to velvety in feel, the wine relies on the compelling richness that sets it apart to offset its finishing heat and tannin.
