Wine Description

(From 2004 Vintage) Red ruby in the glass the wine shows aromas of ripe blackberry, cassis and mint with the more subtle Nebbiolo adding spice, tobacco and leather. The dark berries follow onto a smooth and silky palate that bears the weight of the fruit surprisingly well with balanced acidity leading to a long and dry finish.

Winemaker's Notes

The nose is almost sensual in its complexity, with aromas of forest fruits, plums, licorice, mineral and coffee scents. Long, complex finish with fine, silk-like tannins and good acidity; dense structure, full of super-ripe fruit.

Taste Flavours of thick black cherries (the nebbiolo), blueberries (the merlot), and chocolate-covered-espresso-stuffed raspberries (cabernet). Colour Attractive ruby red. Nose Earthy and tar notes that are more Barolo combine with floral tones more reminiscent of Bordeaux. Accompanies Such an unusual wine with so many flavours it is difficult to say with any clarity the exact meal combinations. This wine would go well with all the traditional dishes associated with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Barolo.
