(2010 Vintage) Dark purple in color, aromas of blackberry, cassis, and graphite escape from the glass. A fresh beam of minerality supports the rich mid-palate while a frame-work of silky tannins, chocolate, and huckleberry linger in the finish.
Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(2005 Vintage) There seems plenty of intent to this ripe and oaky wine, yet its grasp on clear Cabernet fruit is a little loose, and it lapses into chocolaty ripeness. It unravels as palpable heat and a touch of bitter astringency become obvious on the latter palate, and its coarsening shortcomings are not the sort that are likely to be remedied with time.

Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(2004 Vintage) Ripe cherry smells with herbal and peppery shadings make the first impressions here and a touch of creamy oak adds its own bit of magic. The wine is quite full in weight and very much on the plump, fleshy side in feel, and, not surprisingly, takes on a hint of chocolate in its generous, somewhat hotted-up flavors. Still, fruit and richness win the day.
