Using the three traditional Sauternes grape varieties Sémillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle this wine is the result of a severe selection. So as to optimise the beneficial effects of Noble Rot ("La Pourriture Noble"), harvesting is carried out in a series of selective pickings which often necessitates the grape-pickers going through the rows up to 4 or 6 times.
Each vintage is vinified and aged in French-oak barrels, which are entirely renewed every harvest, for 16 to 18 months.
Yellow-gold color. Sexy aromas of ripe apricot, pear, honey and nutty oak show a distinctly exotic side. Then supersweet and concentrated on the palate, showing more sheer sweetness and power than any particular flavor component.
