Winemaker's Notes

Rich and sweet with dark fruit and oaky spice. A flattering first impression. Dense, sweet, ripe, rich palate. Soft, but deep tannins. Still manages to retain a hallmark fragrance. Long, dry, fresh finish. Drink from 2012-25.

Great wine. This didn't impress with the first glass but really filled out nicely by glass two. Tasting notes included black fruit, cedar, some charcoal and earth. The fruit was sweet but not overly so. The tannins were pretty drying at this stage but that didn't detract from my enjoyment of the wine. This wine was all about balance and complementing a meal. Reminds me how good Bordeaux can be without being ridiculously expensive. Highly recommended. (2950 views)

(From 2000 Vintage) Rating: 3/5 - As reviewed by Decanter. Good, deep colour, ripe black currant nose, good fruit and good length, a well-balanced, attractive wine. Ready 2005-2012. (tasted en primeur)
