(From 2010 Vintage) A wine with blueberry and mineral aromas follows through to a full body, with fine tannins and a juicy finish. Best for years from here. Needs at least three years of bottle age to soften.
(From 2011 Vintage) Attractively aromatic, fruit, charm and spice from the Merlot, elegant firmness from the Cabernet and overall finesse and balance.
Connoisseurs' Guide to California WinesSmelling a bit riper than many from this section of the Left Bank, the wine starts with aromas of currants and berries with toasty oak in hot pursuit. It is, however, less complete in its flavors that suggest a bit of concentration but fall short on depth and drift into muscular dryness at the finish. It has a good chance to find a more open stance in time, and it would not be the worst idea to take a chance by laying away a few bottles.
