An elegant palate with a well-rounded body and balanced aromas of vanilla and cinnamon.
Ruby red with a gold-tinged rim. Deep, vibrant colour. Complex nose. It retains the ripe red-berry fruit aromas of blackberries, blueberries, and black plums extraordinarily well. Gradually it opens up to reveal smoky, toasted wood nuances, with spices and hints of minerals and tobacco. Smooth mouth-feel, with sweet, polished tannins. A long, elegant, perfumed finish with final hints of coffee with chocolate.
Nice jamminess here. It's a temp, so critics would say the best Tempranillo is only as good as a mid-range Pinot, but I think they miss the point. Some of us like a kick in their reds.
Paid $15 at local Bales Thriftway had a second time. Really good finish. Balanced.
