2005 Bogle Vineyards Pinot Noir

Wine Description

(From 2012 Vintage) A strong, vibrant texture of crisp acidity and firm tannins energizes this avorful and distinctive wine. Red cherry and raspberry aromas lead to crisp cranberry and cherry flavors.

Winemaker's Notes

(From 2010 Vintage) Deeply garnet in color, radiant floral notes perfume the nose, leaving quite a first impression. Silky and smooth on the palate, the wine resonates with wild raspberries and rustic mint. Bright berry and cola tones trip alongside subtle lavender and vanilla, left behind by the impression of our French and American oak barrels. The delicate tannins create a refined, yet lingering finish.

We like the idea of $13 Russian River Pinot Noir, but we would like the idea even more if the wine were not a pale imitation of the real thing. But, that is what is delivered. Pale in color, wan in smell, angular in feel and green and twiggy in character, this one is clean but boring.
