Wolf Blass Platinum Label Shiraz

Wine Details

Wolf Blass

Wine Description

(2004 Vintage) Smoky, ground coffee aromas of cassis, prunes and plums reveal spirity undertones of smoked oyster oak and suggestions of tea tin. Densely laden with thick, dripping, meaty plum-like fruit, its sumptuously concentrated palate dries out towards the finish, exposing some raw tannins and alcohol. Unlikely to cellar well, it's more of an exaggerated and awkward caricature-like shiraz that despite plenty of depth and richness, simply lacks finesse and balance.

(2001 Vintage) The 2001 vintage is deep purple in color with aromas of spice, black pepper, blackberry and dark chocolate. Balanced with fine integrated tannins and a smooth finish of excellent depth and length, this wine has a rich elegant palate of mocha and spice.
