Wine Description

(2012 Vintage) To create a Red Blend that reveals layer after layer of rich flavors and luscious textures, we combined five distinct varietals from our three estate vineyards in Chile. Merlot from our cool climate Casablanca estate adds bright notes of cherry and raspberry; Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from our Apalta estate adds dark notes of fig, blackberry and black current, as well as richness and structure; Carmenere and Cabernet Franc from our Marchigue vineyard in Colchagua Valley completes this blend with roundness, earthiness and a hint of spice. To create a seamless blend of superior character, we co-fermented several varieties together, such as Carmenere with Cabernet Franc, and Merlot with Syrah. The result is a beautiful blend with richness and dept

Gamey, earth, fruity, definitely an expressive nose! Coffe, green pepper sweet, raspberry, boxwood, black licorice, white pepper, nice mouthfeel, tannic, mouthcoating, reminds me of the Retzlaff. Lots of time left. Tannic finish, puckering.
