Robert Parker(From 2012 Vintage) The 2012 Chardonnay offers up notes of apple blossoms, honeysuckle, white currants and white peaches. This medium-bodied, fresh, pure, nicely textured, classy, well-made Chardonnay should be enjoyed over the next 3-5 years. (eRobert Parker, October 2014)
Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(From 2006 Vintage) It has taken the world a couple of decades for the Chardonnay spectrum to tilt unmistakably in Trefethen's direction, and given that the winery's restrained, balanced approach to the grape is more and more taking hold, it is a bit disappointing to find this wine even more closed in than normal. Its Pippin apple fruit may find greater voice over time, but for the moment, the wine runs just enough slightly off the pace.
