  • Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines
6% Merlot. Clean, quiet and leaning very slightly to the greener end of the varietal spectrum, this firm, middleweight working is a bit light on Cabernet muscle but shows a modicum of mildly herbal, black-cherry fruit. Its mix of acidity and tannin brings a minor edge of coarseness to the finish, but this is still a wine to be drunk in the relatively near term.
