Rosemount's unique diamond shaped label serves as a beacon for consumers around the world, with international accolades bearing testament to the tradition of winemaking excellence. Our Show Reserve wines pay tribute to the great wine regions of Australia and their ability to produce defining examples of celebrated varietals. This range allows us to express the particular regional characteristics of each wine made in the true Rosemount . Crafted from premium parcels of grapes these wines receive additional maturation in the winery cellars, enabling them to develop the distinctive bouquet and rich varietal flavors for which their region is renowned. Adequate winter and spring rain and a warm, dry November set the scene for good, even flowering and berry set. The gentle spring conditions and a particularly cool January encouraged a healthy canopy growth that helped the vines through severe heat in the first two weeks of February when temperatures soared. A return to milder conditions for the duration of the ripening period ensured a bountiful and ripe harvest. This wine was matured for 18 months in a combination of new, one and two year old American and French oak. A deep, richly colored wine with red with purple hues. The nose is generous with rich red fruit aromas, touches of spice, pepper, vanilla and crème brulée. A complex wine with generous, lingering flavors. Rich, soft plum flavors meld with complex spice and pepper notes and touches of creamy, vanilla oak. The palate has an even, supple texture and finishes with great persistence. A very rounded, soft and full flavored Shiraz from the region's 20 to 60 year old vines. (hide)
