2004 Marqués de Riscal Rioja Reserva Rosado

Wine Description

A blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Graciano y Mazuelo. A dark cherry colour with good depth. Balsamic aromas with hints of ripe fruit, complex and spicy. The attack is fresh and light, with soft, rounded tannins. The finish proves persistent with some reminders of toasted oak. Its passage through the mouth is pleasant and elegant, fresh and easy to drink.

Terrific. A very 'european' red - earthy, textured. Went very quickly after day one though so finish the bottle in a night!

Deep, vivid red. Pungent aromas of cherry, cured meat, graphite and cracked pepper. A distinctly wild style, offering fleshy, sweet cherry and candied redcurrant flavors, with building spice and gamey character. Distinctly funky, but with good sweetness, finishing lift and persistence.
