(From 1999 Vintage) Classic Napa Cabernet from one of our favorite "old school" wineries in California. This one will age beautifully, with cassis, black fruit, herbs, tea/tobacco, white pepper and vanilla that characterizes the nose of this mountain Cabernet.     Dark, dense and still very young in the nose, yet surprisingly frontal and fairly direct on the palate, this fleshy, medium-full-bodied working sends the mixed messages of both straightforward fruitiness and the potential for more once a few years have passed. We would have no problems in matching it up with a juicy Porterhouse steak in the near term, but we are also betting that it finds more interest and a bit broader reach if held for five or six years.
