Wine Description

(2004 Vintage) The Maiden represents the second selection from the estate. It is a highly detailed and sumptuous wine, remarkably faithful to the vineyard's pedigree. Accordingly, the resemblance to her "big sister" is unmistakable.

(2000 Vintage) Full medium ruby. Spicy, brooding aromas of black- and redcurrant, licorice, mocha and toasty oak. Impressively ripe and rich; very backward yet conveys an impression of low acidity. Finishes firm but with thoroughly lush tannins.

(2002 Vintage) Good full ruby-red. Superripe aromas of sweet, sappy berries; not roasted. Lush, sweet and sappy, with compelling freshness and depth of sappy fruit. This has terrific early appeal as well as a firm structure to support further development in bottle. Finishes with big, chewy, tongue-dusting tannins and superb lingering sweetness of dark berry fruit. The best Maiden vintage yet.
