A very long finish that leads you to another sip
(From «nv» Vintage) Ripe black cherry and plum aromas mingle with toasty oak and a hint of leather. Flavor: In the mouth, ripe black cherry, plum and currant flavors are beautifully in balance with sweet oak carrying through to a long finish. Tannins are supple and round.
Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(From 2000 Vintage) 5% Merlot; 5% Cabernet Franc. Although launched by its nicely composed aromas of very rich oak and deep, precisely focused black currant fruit, this tight, slightly stiffly balanced Cabernet runs up against acid-pushed tannins at the eleventh hour, and never quite fulfills its early promise. Set it aside for a few years to let it find a softer stance.
