2004 Folie à Deux Ménage à Trois Red

Wine Description

This 2004 blend of Merlot, Syrah and Gewürztraminer. The two red grapes received a 24-hour cold soak on the skins to give the wine its suggestive pinkness and luscious body. The Gewürztraminer was cold fermented to preserve the exotic spice and naked fruit. The 2004 Mènage à Trois is the epitome of a good rosè. No pretension, no pretense. Just a fruit-laden roller coaster ride of raspberries, strawberries, lychee nuts and flowers.

This wine is a belnd of three different vineyards, each contributing the uniqueness of its single variety. Zinfandel provides a blackberry-like peppery spiciness, while Cabernet Sauvignon adds a mature fruity bell pepper quality and Merlot adds a softness and makes the wine ultimately drinkable.

One the nose this wine is quite fruity. On the palate this wine is quite tasty and delightful. It is nicely balanced. This is a good red wine quaffer. Enjoy - Ken
