(From 2010 Vintage) A warm, dry spring got the vines off to an exceptionally early start. No frost, no rain, no unusual heat waves, just endless days of California sunshine with classically warm afternoons and those cool nights that the grapevines adore. Budbreak was early, veraison was early, and the tempo continued right up until harvest. Great quality across the board, healthy fermentations, rich, complex, full bodied wines throughout the Napa Valley.
Cabernet Sauvignon is the workhorse of Ehlers Estate. The 2004 vintage is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Winemaker Rudy Zuidema has carefully constructed this wine to allow all the varietals to complement one another and bring out the best flavor combination for this Cabernet.
