International Wine CellarDark red. Complex, perfumed bouquet of cherry compote, licorice, smoked meat, lavender and sassafras; smells like a Barolo chinato. Deep bitter cherry and dark berry flavors are enlivened by zesty minerals and cracked pepper, picking up gentle tannins with air. A serious, brooding style that will confound those who think that New World pinots are uncomplicated fruit bombs. I have to admire the individual character of this wine.
