(From 2011 Vintage) The Bellavista vineyard extends over 22.82 hectares. Around 9.31ha of the area was planted between 1974 and 1978, the rest between 2006 and 2008. The elevation varies from 530m, in the area known as Bellaria, to 456m in Campinuovi. The soils are predominantly clay, with an abundant pebble-gravel component. 16.34ha consist of vertical-trellised, single-Guyot-trained vines, while the remaining 6.48ha are trained in an open lyre configuration. The first release of this much-prized Gran Selezione was in 1978; it is produced only in the finest growing years.
(From 2009 Vintage) This fruit-forward, mediumbodied red exhibits quintessential Chianti characteristics – an attractive bouquet of dark red fruit that precedes hints of smoke, tar and roses.
