(From 2001 Vintage) 83% Cabernet Sauvignon; 15% Merlot; 1% Cabernet Franc; 1% Petit Verdot. Appealing in its mix of cherries, chocolate and toasty oak, this medium-full-bodied wine gets good marks for its fruit focus, but it is presently marred at the end by angularity and sudden stiffness. Time in bottle might bring a bit of much-needed polish, but lacking any clear guarantees, it comes up a step short of recommendation.

(From 2002 Vintage) 65% Cabernet Sauvignon; 28% Merlot; 3% Cabernet Franc; 3% Malbec; 1% Petit Verdot. Elements of juniper, brushy spice and briar join a mild note of berries in its compact and slow-to-unfold aromas, yet, in the mouth, this firmly structured young wine is touch short on fruity stuffing as opposed to just being "compact". A few years in bottle may see it filling up and out further, but how much and how far remain questions that are unanswered for now.
