Wine Description

(2003 Vintage) CASK 23, made only in exceptional vintages, is usually a blend of the most distinctive fruit from Stag's Leap Wine Cellars' S.L.V. and FAY estate vineyards. But now, thirty years after a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon from S.L.V. won the legendary Paris tasting, they return to this vineyard as the sole source of inspiration for the 2003 blend. This bottling has somewhat less stuffing than its sib- lings, but we prefer it marginally to the SLV because it is a little smoother and rounder in texture, and thus, it impresses as easier to drink. It is also a little less soft behind its moderately firming finishing tannins and comes across as that much better balanced in the bargain.
