  • Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines
Rich, mildly caramelly oak brings a real boost in richness to the otherwise direct, ripe-cherry aromas of this one, and the same oaky sweetness lifts the wine's nicely focused, moderately deep flavors as well. Fine balance and polish are among the wine's most noteworthy traits, and, if never all that flashy, it is a solid and well-made Cabernet whose finely fit parts point the way to five-plus years of improvement.
